Meet the Natural Physique Association Pros

1.  Doug Hailey – was born March 28, 1962 and is the most accomplished athlete in the NPA ranks today. He’s competed in NPA events right from its beginning in 2000, winning the NPA Nationals and earning his right to compete as a Pro athlete in 2002.  Doug has an extensive background as a bodybuilder.  The 40+ Champion has not only won in the (over 40) on six consecutive occasions but won the top prize (under 40) in 2004, 2005 and 2006. The classes merged in 2006 to become one and he in a tie breaker won the 2007 title as well. Doug is an incredible showman. He is the NPA's number one male athlete thus far (the man to beat in 2008).  He was awarded the top Male Pro athlete award in 2006 and will receive the top honor in 2007 as well and the NPA 2nd annual banquet to be held December 2, 2007.   He's a personal trainer by profession.

2.  Irving “Hercules” Peoples – Irving was born February 14, 1954 and has over 20+ years of experience in the sport of bodybuilding. He has participated in many organizations and won many titles in the Nation.  He qualified in the NPA Pro division by winning his class in 2001 NPA Natural USA. He’s absolutely earned his credentials to compete as a NPA professional athlete. In 2004, Irving was runner – up in the (over 40) and (under 40) classes in the NPA Pro divisions. Irving did not participate in 2005, 2006 or 2007 Pro Classic. He is a Police Officer by profession.

3.  Charlie Moss – Charlie was born August 11, 1954 and is another accomplished NPA athlete.  Charlie has competed for many years and to our knowledge has always been a drug free athlete. He’s challenged and went against some of the best Natural athlete’s in the world. He was 2nd runner up in both the (over 40) and (under 40) classes in our Pro division in 2004 and in 2005 he placed second in both division moving up one place from 2004. In 2006 Charlie placed 3rd in both divisions, slightly down from the previous year.  He went on to place 5th in a very competitive 2007 division. His posing to the tune of Jerry Lee Lewis stole the crowd which I think influenced the judges.  He is a retired Navy Reservist / UPS employee by profession.

4.  Leon Eldridge III -  Leon was born May 18, 1962 and appeared on the NPA Pro circuit in 2004 after winning the Overall Si-Flex Masters Universe and his class in the 2003 NPA Nationals.  The Ex-marine upset Clif Koons and went forward.  He placed fourth in the (over 40) class and placed 5th in the (under 40).  Leon did not participate in the 2005, 2006 or 2007 Pro Classics.  He is a Security Officer by profession.

5.  Steve Haywood –Steve was born March 9, 1968, and resides in Columbia, Maryland. He first arrived in the NPA in December 2000.  The show was held at the Virginia State University in Harris Hall.  He won the heavyweight class and the overall title to become the NPA Tri-Cities "Regional" Bodybuilding Champion. Steve went onto compete and win the Overall NPA Natural USA title in 2001 at the Lee Playhouse on Ft. Lee, Virginia. In his pro debut Steve placed 3rd in the (under 40 in 2002 and came back in 2003, and won the (under 40) pro title. He came back in 2004 and was little off from his contest conditioning and placed 4th in the (under 40) class.  Steve is still one of the young lions of the NPA at 39 years old.  He also is a showman and has a pleasing physique. Steve did not participate in the 2005 or the 2006 pro classics.  However he is one of the few pros who has defeated Doug Hailey but came up short in 2007 placing 3rd in his return. I think once he gets back to the competitive stage and stays sharp, Steve can win this title again. He is a professional trainer , web designer and entrepreneur by trade.

6.   Dietrich L. HorseyDietrich was born on January 21, 1966.  He won the NPA Nationals in 2002 and that same year easily won the (under 40) class in our Pro division. Dietrich is a big man and comes in with an awful lot of muscle. When this big man is on, he’s a force to be dealt with.  Since winning in 2002 he hasn't returned, missing 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 Pro Classics. Maybe we will see Big D in 2008. He is another athlete whom has defeated NO. 1 Doug Hailey.  His profession is that of a laborer and Personal trainer.

7.   Eleanor McBride - Eleanor was born December 12, 1960.  Eleanor did one Pro appearance in 2002 after winning the NPA Natural USA in 2001. She won both the (over 40) and (under 40) classes.  She returned in 2006 and cleaned house just as she did previously. Eleanor was our number 1, female Pro athlete. She was awarded this title,  NPA Female Pro athlete of the 2006 year. 2007 she did not return to defend her title and newcomer Lesa McCoy has finally presented a package that the champ may not be able to ignore. 2008 maybe an interesting year if Eleanor returns.

8.  Bob Reiner – Bob was born April 8, 1953. Bob qualified back in 2000 with the Irbys.  He did make his Pro debut in 2002 and retuned in 2003. In 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 he was absent from the Pro Classics.  It is not sure what Bob is doing these days.

 9.  Gordon Kinsey – Gordon was born February 21, 1953.  Gordon placed 5th in the (over 40) in (2004) after qualifying earlier in the same year winning his class in Masters Universe.  He made a good showing in his first year as a NPA Pro athlete. Gordon was a firefighter and did experience a bad accident that almost took his life. He did not participate in the 2005 or 2006, but did compete in the 2007 Pro Classic where he earned 8th place of eight. I think the layoff hurt. He is a good looking athlete and has the body to be back in the thick of things once he gets back on the circuit.

10.  Clif Koons - Clif was born April 8, 1959.  He's a resident of St. Louis, Missouri (the show me state) and been training since 1973, 33 years in the sport. Clif has won an entourage of titles from different federations and organizations. His most notable achievements with the NPA was when he won 1st place in the Lightweight class 2002 in the NPA Nationals and Overall Masters Universe title all in the same night.  This qualifed him to turn Professional. In 2003 Clif competed as a Pro in the NPA and placed 2nd in the (over 40) division and 3rd in the (under 40) division. Clif has it all and one of the best NPA Pros today. He's a Personal Trainier by profession. Clif did not participate in 2004, 2005, 2006 or 2007 Pro Classics.

11.  LaToynia Ransom-Harvey - was born November 4, 1966. She resides in Silver Springs Maryland and won the (under 40) 2005 Pro Divsion.  She qualified by winning the NPA USA in the year of 2004 on Ft. Lee at the Lee Playhouse. LaToynia is a champion that says she will win and backs it up. We are honored to add her to our ranks. LaToynia is a police officer by trade. LaToynia returned to the 2006 Pro Classic and earned 2nd place. She did not return in 2007. However, maybe we will see her in 2008.

12.  Linda Carpenter - Was born June 24, 1956 and is a Champion of Champions. She qualifed in 2005 by winning the NPA Nationals on Ft. Lee at the Lee Playhouse. She is an amazing athlete and on any given day can beat any Natural athlete in the world. Linda won the (over 40) Pro Division in 2005 and was runner - up in the (under 40) Pro division.  She returned to the Pro Classic in 2006 and earned 2nd place in the (Over 40) and 3rd in the (Under 40) category. In 2007 she again returned and needed a tad bit more conditioning and deserves  to be complimented due her quick recovery from an automobile accident that totaled her car.  In spite of it all she placed 3rd of 5 in avery tough female pro division which put her in the $$$ collection. Linda is a program specialist by trade.

13.  Timothy Clanton - was born June 25, 1979. Big Tim as they call him , had the second best amateur year in NPA history. On June 18, 2005 he entered the NPA Nationals, won his class, and went onto win the Overall title. This qualified him to compete as a Professional.  However, he decided to prove that he was the real deal and not a fluke. He entered the NPA Natural USA where he met the legendary Ray Adonay who had the best amateur accomplishment in NPA history.  When all the dust settled, Big Tim was standing with the title. He defeated Adonay and Adonay hasn't been seen on a NPA stage since. Tim wasted no time turning Pro and October 15th he placed third in the under 40 division. Tim returned to the stage in 2006 and placed 2nd in the under 40. With only one more place to go he may have won in 2007, only problem is, he didn't show up to compete.  Rumor has it, he's trying to get bigger. What a waste of a year. He's got plenty of size for  a Natural athlete and he does win this contest it won't be because he was the biggest guy in it.  Tim is a laborer by trade.

14.  Eugene Collins -  was born February 23, 1978 and is an engineer by trade.  Gene made his debut April 2005 at t he NPA Virginia State Championships.  He won the middleweight title and left quite an impression on the judges.  He later returned to the NPA Nationals and earned his Pro Card by winning his class in that show as well.  Gene accepted the invitation to join the Pro ranks and placed fourth in the under 40 division at the time. Eugene has a lot of potenial and should get better as time elapses. His strength is a pleasing physique, the ability to electrify an audience and youth. Eugene has not been seen in a couple of years to include the 2007 season.

15.  Keith Rissolo - was born December 28, 1957.  Keith a man on a mission made his NPA debut in December 2004 at the NPA Tri-Cities "Regional" Bodybuilding Championships. In 2005 he returned to the NPA Nationals and Masters Universe where he qualified for the Pro division by winning the Overall Masters Universe title.  In October 2005 he crossed over to the (Under 40) division and handled his business by placing 5th, still within the money. However due to military obligations he didn't return in 2006 for the challenge but says 2007 he has a surprise. He does Personal training on the side. Keith layoff didn't help him as he placed 7 of 8. He certainly has the tools and belong at this level. He's going to have to stay active and get back in the gym and reset his sites.

16.  Cid Davis - was born June 11, 1955 and resides in Washington DC our nation capitol.  She made her debut back in 2004 at the NPA Tri-Cities "Regional" Championships where she came up a little short.  However in 2005 she returned in the NPA Nationals and Masters Universe and won the masters and open middleweight class in the Nationals to receive her pro eligibility. In 2007 Cid decided to compete as a NPA Pro bodybuilder and place 4th in her first outing. She did very well in a competitive female class.  We look for big things from Cid in the future. She has the genetics to keep all in check. She is a senior staff assistant.

17.  Tim Sinz - was born November 6, 1977, and resides in Nottingham, Maryland.  Tim made his debut in 2005, the NPA Tri-Cities "Regional" bodybuilding championships.  He won the heavyweight class but could not win the overall title.  Tim returned in 2006 to the same show and was prepared this time and won the novice as well as the open title.  In 2007 he went in the NPA Nationals and won the heavyweight class.  He came up a little short for the overall but decided he had enough of the amateur ranks and October 20, 2007 he competed as a pro athlete and placed in te $$$ by taking 4th.  The male pro division was very competitive and the largest turn out thus far.  Tim at only 30 years old is the future of the NPA if he remains and continues to improve.  There is no doubt that the big man has the package. He is a fire fighter by profession.

18. Gloria Knight-McNeilwas born August 21, 1959, resides in Bahama, North Carolina and made her debut at the NPA Nationals and Masters Universe.  Gloria has a Powerlifting background and has competed with the NPC for years as a bodybuilder.  However, believing in the natural movement Gloria earned 3rd place in the Masters Universe but won the heavyweight class in the Nationals, qualifying her to compete as a NPA pro athlete in October.  Gloria accepted the challenge and was runner-up to champion Lesa McCoy.  Gloria will promote her first NPA show on August 9, 2008 in Durham, North Carolina and is a high school teacher by trade.  We are delighted to have her in our ranks!

19.  Toni Johnson - was born December 4, 1970, and resides in Dinwiddie/Petersburg Virginia. Toni made her debut in the NPA back in December 2003 at the NPA Tri-Cities "Regional" Bodybuilding Championships winning the novice and placing 3rd in the middleweight open class. Bitten by the bug, she trained even harder and won the Ms. Virginia title in 2004 and went on to win her class in the NPA Natural USA as a lightweight. In 2005 she came up a little short at the NPA Nationals, but returned in 2006 to win the Ms. North Carolina and the NPA Nationals overall titles. She also teamed up with JW Hicks and won several couples competitions and earned her NPA judging credentials as well. In 2007 she missed winning the Nationals for a second time.  However, this did not keep her from turning professional and entering her first pro show on October 20, 2007, where she placed 5th, still in the $$$ in a very tough female pro division. Toni is our youngest female pro athlete thus far. She has the determination and genetics to become a force. She has won every major amateur title the NPA owns and to turn pro in the NPA was inevitable. She is a homemaker and working on becoming a certified professional trainer.

20.  Lesa McCoy –  was born July 11, 1957, resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia and made her first appearance in the NPA at the 2007 NPA Nationals and Masters Universe Bodybuilding Championships, held on Ft. Lee, Virginia. She had attended the NPA Natural USA in 2006 with her trainer Dan O’Neil and made her decision then.  Lesa didn’t waste any time as she competed in the 2007 Si-Flex Pro Classic and won out over a very good class of NPA female Pro athletes.  She is one of the best natural athletes in the world and is a credit to have in any organization.  She’s also a professional violinist who performs with the Virginia Symphony and Opera orchestra. We feel Lesa will become a dominate force within the NPA.

21.  Kent Bierlywas born July 21, 1963, resides in Brick, New Jersey and made his debut in the NPA last year when he won the NPA Natural USA overall titles.  Kent is no stranger to bodybuilding. He is a top quality Pro athlete with all the genetics to go far in the natural movement in any organization.  Kent sat out in 2006, however made his pro debut in October 2007 and came head to head with the number one rank NPA champion, Doug Hailey. When the dust settled they were in a deadlock, tie.  Implementing the procedure that’s standard in many bodybuilding professional federations, allowing the smoke to clear, it was determined that Kent was one vote short of the win.  This athlete has what it takes  and will be back.  He remains a serious threat to all those that under estimate his talent.   Kent is a gym owner and personal trainer.
